Pyohex Medicated Foam Shampoo is exclusively designed to remove dirt and scale and kill cutaneous microorganisms that primarily or secondarily cause dermatitis in dogs. It is highly beneficial for the treatment of superficial skin infections in dogs. Its broad and effective anti-septic action controls hot spots and bacterial dermatitis in dogs. The shampoo formulation effectively removes dirt and grime while degreasing skin, leaving the coat softened and moisturized. It kills bacteria and other micro-organisms responsible for various skin conditions. The Pyohex medicated foam-based antiseptic shampoo controls bacterial infection effectively and improves dog skin health.
How Does it Work?
The Dermacare anti-bacterial medicated shampoo contains the active ingredient chlorhexidine glucose. This ingredient works by binding to hair and entering the hair follicle through the hair shaft to eliminate bacteria. Chlorhexidine kills bacteria by breaking their cell membranes and cell contents. The surfactant base removes unwanted lipids that are produced by bacterial lipases and helps remove skin greasiness. Although, the product does not drain skin lipids essential for preventing transepidermal water loss which leads to skin infections.
How often should I use Pyohex Medicated Shampoo & Conditioner?
- Twice a week when infection is active
- Once every 1-2 weeks for maintenance
Using Pyohex Medicated Conditioner will:
- Soften your dog's coat
- Moisturise your dog's skin
- Extend the antibacterial action
Reasons for bacterial skin infections:
- Allergies: pollen, grass, food (meats), fleas
- Hormonal problems (including Cushing’s disease and thyroid problems)
- Parasitic infestations such as demodex mites or scabies
- The shampoo should be applied to a wet coat and lathered up.
- Leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
- Distract the dog from licking during this period to prevent ingestion or inhalation.
- After rinsing, allow the dog to shake excess water from its coat and then rub the conditioner through the coat whilst still damp.
Directions:
- First wet the coat then apply PYOHEX onto pet’s coat with the help of sponge.
- Allow to stay for 10 minutes then rinse it off thoroughly with water.
- Bath twice weekly until the symptoms subsides.
- Thereafter, use once in a week or as directed by your vet.
